Message Text: Samsung showcases its next generation digital cameras at the annual Photo Marketing Association (PMA) Tradeshow in Anaheim, California.

Samsung NX10

Launched at CES 2010, the mirror-less interchangeable lens digital camera promises to offer the performance and image quality of a DSLR and the portability and ease of-use of a compact point-and-shoot.

The NX10 is the first to utilize an APS-C sized image sensor (CMOS type), providing a larger surface area to gather light and produce higher-quality images. The NX10 utilizes an ultra precise Electronic Viewfinder (EVF) and also offers a high-resolution, 3.0" AMOLED display. The camera also features fast auto-focusing speed as well as the ability to record HD video in addition to professional quality digital stills.

Like a DSLR, the NX10 offers users the flexibility of interchangeable lenses and optical image stabilization (lens shift). At launch, three Samsung NX lenses will be made available, including a 30mm fixed focus pancake lens, an 18-55mm OIS, and a 50-200mm OIS telephoto.

TL500 and TL350

Samsung also opened up PMA 2010 with the TL500 and TL350 digital cameras.
The TL500 is a high-end compact camera which received a lot of attention at the event, thanks to a full list of advanced features, most notably the camera's lens. With the TL500, Samsung's putting one of the brightest lenses ever featured on a compact camera right in consumers' hands- a 24mm ultra-wide angle Schneider KREUZNACH, f/1.8. The f/1.8 lens also allows users to take better photos in low-light environments as more light is passed through to the new high-performance 1/1.7" CCD sensor. Larger than the sensors typically found in compact digital cameras, the TL500?s 1/1.7" CCD offers higher sensitivity (max ISO 3200/full-resolution). Together with Samsung?s re engineered and fast, DRIMeIII imaging processor, the TL500 captures high-quality images, regardless of the lighting environment.

The high-end Schneider lens offers a 24mm, ultra-wide focal length and 3x optical zoom. For blur free images, the TL500?s lens is also paired with Samsung?s Dual Image Stabilization technology.

The camera also features a fast processor and sensor that allows the camera to shoot super-slow motion video - up to 1,000 fps - as well as an impressive burst mode that will take up to ten, 10MP digital stills per second.

15X Optical Zoom Capability to Mega-Zoom Family

Samsung added two new models to its HZ-Series of high zoom, point-and-shoot digital cameras. The 12-megapixel HZ35W and HZ30W offer the same wide-angle 24mm Schneider lenses as their predecessors, the HZ15W and HZ10W, but extend the telephoto capability of the range from a 10x optical zoom to a 15x optical zoom. In addition, the HZ35W comes equipped with a 3.0" AMOLED display and built-in GPS technology for the automatic geo-tagging of images from anywhere in the world.

The cameras' Schneider KREUZNACH lenses are also paired with Dual Image Stabilization (IS), which allows users to capture images using both Optical and Digital Image stabilizers. The Optical IS compensates for hand trembling by shifting the lens in the opposite direction. When Optical IS isn't quite enough, the Digital IS automatically takes over to ensure blur-free images.

The HZ35W and the HZ30W have the ability to record video at a resolution of 720p / 30fps. Samsung also incorporates H.264 compression and offers consumers HDMI connectivity. The cameras also offer Samsung?s scene recognition technology, Smart Auto (Still & Movie). Smart Auto has been upgraded from the HZ15W and HZ10W, as it can now be used with video as well as with still images. Similar to the way the technology analyzes the composition of an image to select the best scene mode when capturing digital stills, the technology will do the same for video, automatically choosing between one of four pre-programmed settings and selecting the setting that will yield the best footage with proper exposure and color balance.

Samsung SL630

Samsung also extended its SL-Series of digital cameras with the introduction of the SL630. This 12.2 megapixel point-and-shoot has a 28mm wide-angle, 5x optical zoom lens, Dual Image Stabilization, and Samsung's full range of smart features packed in a slim, compact frame.

The Optical IS compensates for hand trembling by shifting the lens in the opposite direction.

Samsung?s SL630 comes fully equipped with an array of automatic controls, including Samsung?s scene recognition technology known as Smart Auto.

The SL630 also features auto focusing options such as object tracking. In addition, the SL630 offers Samsung's Perfect Portrait System - a series of automatic technologies which take the guess work out of shooting beautiful portraits. Key features of the Perfect Portrait System include Face Detection, Samsung's Smile Shot and Blink Detection technologies, Red Eye Fix mode, and Beauty Shot.

Samsung also offers standard definition video recording in the new SL630, at a resolution of 640x480 and recording at 30 frames-per-second.

Samsung's New HMX-U20 Pocket-Sized Camcorder Offers 3x Optical Zoom and Full HD Video Recording February 20, 2010

Samsung HMX-U20 and HMX-U15 compact camcorders

Samsung extended its family of ultra-compact camcorders with the introduction of two new models, the HMX-U20 and the HMX-U15. Building on the of the Samsung HMX-U10, the new HMX-U20 and HMX-U15 bring new features and functionality to Samsung?s camcorder family, such as a built-in USB connection. The HMX-U20?s and HMX-U15?s built-in style USB connection gives users the ability to forego having to always carry a separate USB cable to connect and upload footage to a computer. The built-in USB connection can also recharge the camcorder?s battery. Furthermore, the HMX-U20 and HMX-U15 offer HDMI connectivity.

The HMX-U20 and HMX-U15 also feature Samsung?s play edit sharing program, called intelli studio. Sharing is also simplified thanks to a one-touch "upload" button on the HMX-U20 and HMX-U15. When connected to a computer with an internet connection, the one-touch "upload" button links directly to popular destinations such as YouTube.
