Taiwan-based Lite-On Technology Corp., the largest supplier of half-height optical drives in the world, is expected to score a 20% growth in business operations this year.
According to a report published by Taiwan Economic News newspaper, Lite-On's single-month combined revenue shot up to a historical high of US$182.9 mil in October, 2009, and was very likely to stay at a plateau of US$161.29 million in December. The firm's sales revenue for the fourth quarter of the year was estimated at US$520 million, a single-quarter high.
Presently, 70% of the firm`s total sales revenue is generated from optical disc drives, which include slim models for automotives, game consoles and digital photo frames, and half-height models for desktop PCs.
In addition to slim optical drives, the firm is expected to further explore the markets for blu-ray disc drives and models for cars in the second half of this year, the paper added. |
