Message Text: Nvidia will reportedly release its first 40nm GPU at the end of September 2009.

Although it is not officially confirmed by Nvidia, the company is expected to release its new 40nm GeForce GT220 (GT216) and GeForce G210 (GT218) GPUs at the end of September 2009, at least according to Chinese-language Commercial Times report.

Nvidia had delayed the release of a 40nm GPU some months ago citing low yields on the company's chip provider Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC). However, TSMC had provided silicon to Nvidia's 'rival', AMD, allowing them to implement the new a 40nm GPUs to their latest graphics cards.
