Message Text: Nokia, the No. 1 mobile phone maker, will reportedly release new devices that feature large touchscreens and Qwerty keypads, in an effort to compete with Research In Motion and Apple in the smartphone business.

It is not clear whether the new devices will be tablet PCs or MIDs, but the first device is expected to have a large 4.2-inch touchscreen display as well as a slide-out keyboard, according to an online report from Thestreet.com web site.

Nokia also plans to release new smartphones win the next quarter featuring a vibration technology from Immersion to help make typing on touchscreens more lifelike.

Another interesting device is the so-called "project Nautilus", which will have a special sensor used to extend or withdraw the keyboard into the phone. The device will also have an ultra-thin touchscreen design and it is expected to be released next year.

Finally, Nokia is expected to enter netbook market by partnering with its ODM partner Foxconn.

Nonie did not comment on the reports.
