 Samsung OmniaHD to Feature 720P HD-video Capture

Message Text: Samsung gave some details about the new OmniaHD mobile phone at the company's MWC 2009 press conference in Barcelona.

According to Samsung, the Samsung OmniaHD will be the world?s first HD-video capture capable phone, sporting an 8 megapixel camera that captures 720P HD video. It will have a 3.7-inch AMOLED screen, hig-speed internet connection and it will run on Symbian?s S60 5th Edition mobile OS.

Although there was no word yet on pricing or availability, here are the specs:

- Quadband GSM, EDGE, Triband UMTS
- HSUPA/HSDPA data
- 3.7-inch 16M color Full Touch QHD AMOLED screen
- 8MP autofocus cam with Smile Shot/ Blink Shot/ - Panorama Shot
- Support for DivX, XviD, H.263, WMV, MPEG4, RV
- 24FPS@HD (1280 x 720p) video recording
- FM Radio with RDS
- GPS with A-GPS
- Proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, compass, accelerometer
- 3D TouchWiz UI with widgets
- Stereo Bluetooth, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi
- 8GB / 16GB models with support for external
microSDHC cards up to 32GB
- 12.9mm thickness
- 1500 mAh battery

The S. Korean company also unveiled the Samsung M7600 BeatDJ?s.
