LG electronics Japan Ltd. will ship the company's BD370 Blu-ray player in Japan in the end of the month. This is the first time the S.Korean company enters the Japanese market with a Blu-ray product.
LG, which is expected to face strong competition by Sony and Panasonic in its debut in the Japanese market, plans to offer the new BD370 Blu-ray disc player at a very attractive price.
The BD370 appeared earlier this month at CES in Las Vegas. The player offers an array of content-on-demand options through alliances YouTube and other companies. The service allows consumers to streamWeb videos directly from the Internet to an LG Network Blu-ray Player for viewing on their television (without a personal computer).
The BD370 offers broadband connectivity and advanced audio capabilities with audio format decoding such as Dolby TrueHD/Digital Plus and DTS-HD. It supports
full HD 1080p Blu-ray disc playback with BD-Live and BonusView, and 1080p upscaling for standard DVD.
BD-R/RE, DVD video (NTSC/PAL), DVD±R, DVD-RW (video/VR mode), BD-ROM, DVD+RW (video mode), audio CD and CD-R/RW can be reproduced by the player, as well as AVCHD, DivX video and MP3/WMA audio files.
The player is also expected to retail in the U.S. in the second quarter of this year, followed by the BD390 model, which features a wireless home networking connectivity. |
