Message Text: Intel is expected to release a new version of its Core i7 Extreme processor clocked at 3.33GHz.

Overclockers Mikeguava and Fugger appear to already have their hands on Intel's range-topping part as they managed to further boost its clock at 5259.6 GHz! According to the CPU-Z screenshot posted online, the new Intel Core i7 Extreme 975 CPI is natively clocked at 3.33GHz.

The specific sample also supports the D0 stepping, which mainly produces less heat and allows for easier overclocking.
