Message Text: Corsair today announced the HX450W, part of the newly-established Corsair Professional Series of enthusiast-class, modular power supply units.

The new Corsair Professional Series incorporates the existing HX-series of PSUs, which includes the Corsair Professional Series HX1000W, and the new Corsair Professional Series HX450W is engineered to the same exacting standards.

"The Corsair Professional Series HX450W is ideal for enthusiasts in need of a PSU for PCs with modest power requirements, such as Home Theatre PCs and mid-range gaming PCs, but who don?t want to sacrifice quality, features or performance," said Jim Carlton, Vice President of Marketing at Corsair.

The Corsair Professional Series HX450W uses industrial-grade components for stable voltages, and delivers the vast majority of its total power output (88%) on the critical 12V rail, which is essential for reliably powering today?s PCs with multi-core CPUs and DirectX 10 graphics processors. The Professional Series HX450W is also tested and guaranteed to operate at 100% load at an ambient temperature of 50 degrees C, guaranteeing stability and reliability no matter the conditions.

The Corsair Professional Series HX450W features an energy-efficient circuitry design for maximum energy savings and minimal heat generation. This design meets 80 PLUS BRONZE certification standards ensuring a minimum efficiency of 82%. A temperature-controlled 120mm fan makes the Corsair Professional Series HX450W one of the quietest PSUs.

The Corsair Professional Series HX450W also boasts a new cabling configuration that uses low-profile, flat modular cables that reduce air friction to help maximise airflow through the computer chassis. The modular design also simplifies installation as it allows for flexibility in utilizing only those cables that are needed.

The PSU will be available in Europe and Asia from 24 November 2008. It is backed by a 7-year warranty and customer support.
