Asus Eee PC 901, 1000 and 1000(H) Unveiled at Computex

Asus released the new Eee PC 901, 1000 and 1000(H) models powered by Intel's Atom processors at Computex 2008.
This new range of Eee PCs come with
shockproof Solid State Drives (SSD), they are equipped
with the exclusive Super Hybrid Engine technology that
can provide longer battery lifespans of up to 7.8 hours,
exclusive web storage and high speed connectivity, and
large displays.
The "Eee PC 901" is powered by an Intel Atom processor,
adopts the 8.9" design also met in the company's
original Eee PC, comes with a 1GB of memory, a 12GB/20GB
SSD and a 1,024?600 (WVGA) display is installed in the
main specification. They are available on both Windows
and GNU Linux platforms.
Its weight is 1.1kg and it will be available in taowan
this month for 16,988 Taiwan Dollars (US$563).
The "Eee PC 1000" comes equipped with a full size
keyboard and a 10" WSVGA display. It's main
specifications include the Atom processor, 2GB of memory
and a 40GB SSD. It comes with Linux OS installed.
Availability is schedulled for the end of June in Taiwan
first, priced at 19,988 Taiwan Dollars (US$663).
The "Eee PC 1000H" features the same specifications as
its is "Eee PC 1000" brother, but it comes with an 80GB
HDD. Windows XP Home Edition or Linux are the available
OS options. It will cost Taiwanese cinsumers 18,988
Taiwan Dollars (US$630).
The new Eee PCs are equipped an expanded battery that
provides up to 7.8 hours of battery life; while the
Super Hybrid Engine technology provides three GUI modes
to easily adjust CPU frequency, voltage, and LCD
brightness to minimize system noise and power
consumption to save up to 15% power consumption, or to
maximize system performance according to individual
needs.
Furthermore, the Eee PCs pair a built-in 1.3M Pixel
webcam with high speed wireless Internet connection
capabilities. |
