Pioneer and Panasonic have reached an agreement that makes provisions for the production of future Kuro plasma HDTV models.
Many home theater enthusiasts were quite disappointed when Pioneer announced their exit from the plasma display business, because they made what some think to be the best plamsa yet. Luckily Pioneer has now reached an agreement with Panasonic to ensure the future of Kuro HDTVs for some time.
Production on these jointly manufactured units will begin in May of 2009, and they will still sell as a ''premium'' brand.
One can hope that the quality of the Kuro line won't be compromised in the turmoil of the switch, but obviously Pioneer has provided Panasonic with the proper tools and insight to ensure the quality of the Kuros of the future.
