Message Text: Sigma Designs today announced that its SMP8634 media processor was selected by Samsung to power its new HT-BD2 home theater-in-a-box (HTiB).

Samsung's home theater product combines a Blu-ray player and sound system into one product offering.

Samsung?s HT-BD2 HTiB delivers full HD 1080p video quality and includes a HT-BD2 7.1 channel HD receiver speaker system that supports Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master bitstream audio. Its Blu-ray player, powered by a Sigma SoC, offers compatibility with 24 movie frames per second playback reproducing movies in their native format.
