Message Text: HTC has taken the wraps off a new smartphone called the Touch Cruise.

This will not have a strong resemblance to the other models in this company's Touch series, but it will include a GPS receiver. Like its sister models, the HTC Touch and the HTC Touch Dual, this upcoming model will have a TouchFLO, which is HTC's system to make it easier to control many of the functions on a Windows Mobile smartphone with a fingertip. The Touch Cruise will have a few more hardware buttons than its series mates, plus a better camera: 3.0 megapixels. To take advantage of its GPS receiver, it will come with TomTom navigation software and maps for a single city. The user will have to purchase additional maps. Other Features of the HTC Touch Cruise This smartphone will run Windows Mobile 6 Professional on a 400 MHz processor, and have 128 MB RAM and 256 MB of ROM. It will also include a microSD memory card slot for storage of files and applications. The Touch Cruise will sport a 2.8-inch, QVGA touchscreen. It will act as a GSM phone with UMTS/HSDPA, as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. In addition, this device will have an FM radio and a 1350 mAh battery. It will be 4.3 inches tall, 2.3 inches wide, 0.6 inches thick (110 mm by 58 mm by 15.5 mm) and 4.6 ounces (130 g). Coming Soon to a Europe Near You The HTC Touch Cruise will be available from both retailers and SIM free directly from HTC starting later this month. However, this smartphone's initial launch will only be in Europe, and it's likely the wireless networking frequencies it supports will be the European ones. There has been no word yet of a N. American launch.
