Skype 3.6 for Windows beta transmits video at 640x480 pixels (VGA) at up to 30 fps. Previous standard video calling offers a resolution of up to 320X240 pixels (QVGA) at 15 frames per second.

In order to make High Quality Video calls, in addition to running the latest version of Skype, system needs to meet certain hardware requirements. Firstly, you?ll need a webcam that can take high quality video. Secondly, these video calls will require a dual-core processor in your computer. Lastly, high quality video calls require sufficient bandwidth (at least 380kb).
