Message Text: The VAIO RM1N desktop combines innovative design, next-generation technology and outstanding software to provide professional-level HD editing capabilities to businesses and consumers alike.

In a radical departure from the norms of desktop design, the RM1N's system unit comes in two parts. The Main Unit holds the motherboard and major components, while the Access Unit houses the optical drives, hard disk and multi-format card reader. This gives users huge flexibility in the way they set the machine up. For example the optical unit can be placed under the monitor for easy access, while the system unit is stood off to one side. Both units can stand vertically as well as horizontally, so there are lots of possibilities. Whichever you choose, the end result will always be a setup that suits the way you like to work.

Continuing the ergonomic focus, the RM1N is supplied with a specially designed Jog controller which is fully compatible with the pre-installed copy of Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0. In addition to Premiere, the RM1N is supplied with all you need for handling HD content. WinDVD BD For VAIO lets you watch HD-format movies and Click to DVD BD provides simple but powerful tools for burning your HD content onto Blu-ray Disc for export or archiving.

Beside Intel Core 2 Quad processor and NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS graphics card, there is a great amount of storage on offer too, with a twin disk Serial ATA RAID 0 array totalling 1 terabyte (1024GB).

The system unit has room for an additional four SATA hard disks, and there are three open PCI-Express slots capable of taking full-length cards.
