 Sony Ericsson Launches 2 Walkman, 2 Camera Phones

Message Text: Sony Ericsson launched two new music phones in its popular Walkman range and two new camera phones in Berlin on Thursday.

The W960 Walkman is aimed at the top end of the market where it will compete with products such as Apple's iPhone. It has a touch screen, built-in WiFi wireless access and aroung 8GB of flash memory, enough to store up to 8,000 tunes.

The phone supports web surfing via Wi-Fi or at 3G speed, allowing users to and watch videos in TV quality (30 frames per second). it has a The 2.6" touch-sensitive display and boasts a 3.2 megapixel camera within its 16mm frame. The W960 Walkman runs Symbian OS and has a 3 Mpxl camera.

The W910 Walkman slider phone has an innovative control mechanism that allows users to shuffle through their music collection by shaking the phone. It also adds a new dimension to mobile gaming. instaed of using the you dedicated gaming buttons, users can just steer the W910 from left to right to make their move during gaming.

The W910 Walkman phone will feature the latest version of the PlayNow mobile download service (PlayNow4.0). This gives the user instant access to a catalogue of games, mastertones and music, including thousands of tracks from Sony BMG. Users will be able to preview, select and pay for tracks, and download them on demand directly to their phone. Over 900 songs can be stored on the W910 (1GB Memory Stick Micro provided).

Both new Walkman phones also have a new Media Manager PC programme that lets users organise their music, photos and podcasts on their PC and transfer them via USB to their phone.

The K850 has a 5-megapixel camera with Auto focus and Xenon flashand will sell under the Cyber-shot brand. The Tri-Band HSDPA phone also comes with a 2.2" display and features ? BestPic, Photo fix and PictBridge. The phone iswill be available with a colour choice of either Velvet Blue or Luminous Green.

Photo fix automatically improves light balance in one click to make your picture as good as it can get. When taking a picture of a moving object, for example at a sports event, you can select BestPic and take nine pictures in one burst.

Sony also announced the new Sony Ericsson Z320. It has a 1.3 megapixel camera and it can store up to 100 of e pictures. The Z320 is available in a colour choice of Crimson Red or Atlantic Blue and comes with a 1.8" 65K internal display.



All four models will be on sale in the second half of this year worldwide.

Several new accessories were introduced in Berlin, including a GPS (global positioning system) unit that can be connected to a mobile phone and new Bluetooth headsets.
