The new platform is expected to allow OEMs to design notebook PCs that provide users with better graphics and connectivity performance, increased energy efficiency for extended battery life.
To ensure longer battery life, the AMD M690 incorporates innovative memory technology known as
Display Cache
, designed to allow the CPU to operate in low-power mode without accessing system memory. This platform-level innovation coupled with the energy efficient processor design of AMD Turion 64 X2 dual-core mobile technology extends battery life by up to 30 minutes over previous AMD mobile technologies.
The AMD M690 is powered by the ATI Radeon X1200 series graphics processor, delivering seamless access to any of the visually rich features found in Windows Vista and strong gaming performance. This is the first mobile AMD chipset to support ATI Avivo technology and integrated HDMI and DVI connectivity options.
