Message Text: Nvidia introduced the nForce 680i LT SLI chipset for Intel processors on Monday.

The NVIDIA nForce 680i LT SLI MCP core-logic solution is engineered for extreme gamers and will be available for under $200 USD.

The platform supports next-generation 1333MHz FSB processors including Intel Core 2 Quad, Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Extreme. It promises "Best-in-class" processor and memory overclocking capability. In addition, it supports Dual x16 PCI Express slots with support for NVIDIA SLI multi-GPU technology as well as SLI-Ready memory for one-click access to enhanced memory settings.

Other features include support for RAID 5, RAID Morphing, and networking packet prioritization for clear VOIP and improved online gaming experiences.

Nvidia's reference motherboard includes four DDR2-800 and the DIMM slot, offering a maximum capacity of 8GB.

NVIDIA nForce 680i LT SLI "Designed by NVIDIA" motherboards are available today from EVGA, XFX and others for approximately $200 USD. More implementations of the chipset designed and developed by Taiwanese motherboard manufacturers will be available later, Nvidia said.
