Panasonic Announces USB-powered Super-multi DVD Burner

Panasonic will release next month the LF-P968C, a new portable DVD Super-multi DVD burner.
The drive will be available in the Japanese market and it is compatible with Windows 2000/XP/Vista operating systems.
Compared to the company's previous model (LF-P967C) the new
LF-P968C delivers the same performance but it does not require an external AC power supply.
Powered by the USB interace, the LF-P968C writes on
DVD±R media at 8X, DVD±RW at 6X, DVD-RAM at 5X, DVD±R DL at 4X, CD-R at 24X and CD-RW at 16X. The supported reading speeds are 5X for DVD-RAM, 6X for DVD±R DL/±RW/-ROM DL and 24X for CD-R/-RW/-ROM/. Seek times are 180ms for CD and 150ms for DVD, according to the official specifications.
The portable device measures 135?135.6?14.8 mm (W ? D ? H) and its weight is about 290g. Panasonic did not provide pricing details for the DVD burner. |
