Amidst constant official denials, a new black Xbox 360 equipped with an HDMI interface and a 120GB hard disk appears on the pages of a game magazine.
The rumors that the Xbox 360 would be getting a redesign has been circulating around the web for quite some time now. The new Xbox 360 was supposed to be black, with a 120 GB hard drive and a built-in HDMI port. Microsoft always denied to confirm the plans for a new Xbox 360, but scans of next month's issue of Game Informer indicate that the machine exists.
While these improvements may come as good news to people taking a wait-and-see attitude to purchasing the console, the price tag was anything but positive. According to the article, the upgraded console is set to retail for $479, which is $20 less than the lower-end PlayStation 3. However, the HD DVD player for the new Xbox 360 will remain an add-on.
Microsoft issued the standard response that it "doesn't comment on rumors and speculation."
