Message Text: CyberLink today announced a partnership to integrate CyberLink Mobile DTV Solution software with Irdeto's secure solutions for mobile TV, to create a complete solution for enabling playback of protected TV content on the mobile phone platform.

The results of this cooperation will be on display at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, February 12-15.

With the mobile phone developing as a key platform for delivering protected TV content, CyberLink Mobile DTV Solution enables the navigation and playback of TV programs, while Irdeto's conditional access (CA) and DRM technology provide a secure mechanism for accessing pay-TV and other subscription services via the mobile phone.

"Having developed playback technology for protected TV content on the PC, CyberLink is now providing solutions for pay-TV on mobile phones," said Alice H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink. "Irdeto provides key expertise for conditional access on mobile devices, and we are happy to work with them to ensure that TV operators and broadcasters have a sustainable business model for protecting premium content on the mobile phone."

CyberLink Mobile DTV solution is a multi-standard, multi-band software solution that enables the decoding, playback, and recording of TV. CyberLink's Mobile DTV player supports electronic service guide (ESG) information, which allows the quick previewing of TV channels via a preview window.

The Irdeto Mobile Broadcast conditional access (CA) solution is the first-ever CA implemented for mobile broadcasting services. This new mobile multimedia service enables subscribers to enjoy multi-channel, multimedia broadcasting on mobile phones, portable receivers, and in-car devices.
