According to reports, the device, supposedly codenamed Athena, will be the followup to the HTC Universal, a model that, as it's name suggests, tried to pack everything into one package.
The best information so far on the Athena has come from Poland-based PDAclub.pl, which managed to obtain several pictures of of what it claims is this model.
These show a handheld with a unique design. It will start out in a standard enough fashion: a tablet with a 3.5-inch, QVGA touchscreen.
Then comes the twist. The Athena will reportedly have a detachable QWERTY keyboard. The main unit can be connected to one side of the keyboard to make a laptop-like shape, or they can used when separated.
In addition, this design allows the keyboard to be left behind when a smaller device is wanted. |
