Message Text: Continuing its heritage of delivering display innovations to the mainstream market, ViewSonic today unveiled a line of widescreen LCD monitors, targeted at performance and value-focused consumers.

This new series of widescreen displays represents the latest offerings in ViewSonic's campaign to announce 25 products in the fourth quarter of 2006. With estimated street prices (ESP) starting at $199, these ViewSonic displays feature an ultra-fast response time of 5 milliseconds and improved screen performance for gaming, video and business applications.

The ViewSonic offerings announced include the VX2235wm, the VX2035wm and the VX1935wm, 22-, 20- and 19-inch widescreen LCDs with an ESP of $399, $349 and $199 respectively. All three displays offer more screen real-estate, helping business users increase productivity by managing multiple documents at once and providing gamers with more room to roam their richly detailed in-game surroundings or toggle on-screen menus. The VX2235wm, VX2035wm and VX1935wm also feature a newly designed thin bezel with integrated full-sound stereo speakers and power supply, helping users keep their desktops free of cable clutter.

"Widescreen monitors have proven to be a perfect choice for those enjoying digital entertainment on the desktop and for business professionals to see more information on one screen and easily switch between applications and projects," said Jeff Volpe, vice president of marketing, ViewSonic Americas. "ViewSonic is aggressively attacking this market demand by offering innovative widescreen options that take full advantage of the latest advances in computer operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows Vista."

The VX2235wm combines a 1680x1050 native resolution, 280 nits of brightness (typ) and a 700:1 contrast (typ). The VX2035wm offers 1680x1050 native resolution, 300 nits of brightness (typ) and 800:1 contrast ratio (typ) while the VX1935wm delivers a native resolution of 1440x900, 300 nits of brightness (typ) and a 700:1 contrast (typ).
