Ricoh released a firmware update on Tursday for its 8 megapixel high-end compact GR Digital camera.
The version 2.02 upgrade improves the accuracy of the auto focus algorithm when the Target Shift AF function is used. This upgrade comes just a month after the version 2.01 was released, which let users customize several settings.
Last month?s upgrade is included in the new one. Those changes include customization of the control dial and its ability to change shutter speed and aperture, the illumination of the LCD monitor when the shutter is depressed halfway, and the selection of features in the menu when the shutter is pressed halfway.
The Ricoh GR Digital is less than an inch thick and offers 8 megapixels for about $720. It has a wide 28 mm fixed focal length lens with a relatively large aperture of f/2.4. The back hosts a 2.5-inch LCD screen with 210,000 pixels. The Ricoh GR Digital has an ISO range that tops out at 1600 and can shoot in JPEG, TIFF, or RAW file formats.
The upgrade is available at
