Sony introduced a new portable DVD player, the DVP-FX810, with an 8-inch type liquid crystal display.
The new portable DVD player includes an 8-inch LCD screen that delivers a resolution of up to 480?220 pixels. The display can also be folded and make a 180 degrees rotation.
It is compatible with DVD±R/RW and DVD+R/-RW DL in addition to DVDs. It also supports 8cm disks and CPRM media.
Moreover, the reproduction of MP3/JPEG recorded in DVD±R/RW and CD-R/RW in addition to music CD reproduction is also possible with the Dolby Digital built-in decoder. A television tuner is not included.
The surface of the liquid crystal display is protected by a coating of acrylic fiber.
The battery is bundled to the DVD player, and delivers a maximum continuous reproduction time of six hours, according to Sony.
The DVP-FX810 will be on the Market in Japan on June 1 and will sell for approximately 35,000 yen ($300).
