Security agencies have identified a new worm that can attack Windows operating systems through P2P file-sharing.

The virus named W32/Inject-H acts as a backdoor Internet Relay Chat (IRC) and spreads through P2P networks and installs itself in the registry and becomes a server.

Security firm Sophos says the worm/trojan can allow others to access the computer via IRC. He recommends the the virus identity (IDE) file.

IRC is a common protocol used in many file-sharing applications like Napster.
