Pioneer announced on Tuesday three new DVD players: the 696AV and the 490V models include an HDMI output and the 393 that doesn't.
The is a universal player DVD-696AV includes an HDMI output and delivers upscaling of 720p/1080i video.
It corresponds to the reproduction of DVD-R/RW (VR mode/video mode) besides playing the SACD, DVD-R DL (VR mode/video mode), and DVD+R/RW (video mode). Moreover, MP3, WMA, JPEG files and DivX/DivX Ultra videos can be reproduced from a CD-R/RW disc.
The three DVD players from Pioneer will be launched firstly on the Japanese market.
The DVD-393 lacks of an HDMI interface and will be available at the end of April and will sell for approximately 12,000 yens ($100).
The DVD-490V and the DVD-696AV will be shipping in late May and the 490V retail at 16,000 yens ($140) and the 696AV model at 20,000 yens ($170).
