Message Text: The newest family member of the Radeon X1800 series, the Radeon X1800 GTO will be available from ATI's add-in-board partners by the end of the month at a suggested retail price of $249.

The Radeon X1800 GTO combines gaming performance with a good price. The chip supports high definition rendering (HDR) and anti-aliasing (AA)-functionality. It features the same ultra-threaded shader architecture and the new memory architecture of ATI's Radeon X1800 XT and Radeon X1800 XL, as well as ATI's Avivo visual technology for high definition video playback.

Radeon X1800 GTO has 12 pixel shader processors, a 256-bit GDDR3 memory interface and operates at 500 MHz core and 1000 MHz memory speeds.

The Canadian company also officialy announced today the Avivo Video Converter, a tool that will allow convertion of PC-based videos for play on portable players.

In less than 5 minutes, the Avivo Video Converter can convert 30 minutes of video into a format playable by today's more popular portable video devices, according to ATI.

The Avivo Video Converter is available today, as a wizard found within Catalyst Control Centre 6.3. The Avivo Video Converter outputs videos compatible with DVD/DivX player or portable media devices such as the Apple iPod, Sony PSP, Creative Zen and many others.

Catalyst 6.3, which includes the Avivo Video Converter, is available for download at www.ati.com.
