Message Text: Roxio today released MyDVD 8 Premier, which introduces new features including video editing capabilities quality video transitions and effects, customizable menu templates, and support for high definition (HD) video.

MyDVD 8 Premier makes it easy for users to create DVDs with custom designs and multi-chapter menus with advanced navigation. It features a new project tree viewer for easy navigation through project layers during the DVD creation process. Output options include both standard and widescreen formats.

The software also allows users to import and create photo slideshows with up to 999 photos in full-screen or widescreen format, and add transitions, motion effects (pan and zoom) and audio tracks. The built-in photo editor includes functionality for making common adjustments such as removing red-eye, rotating, cropping and AutoFix.

Of course, the main function of MyDVD 8 remains the video editing. It includes the automated CineMagic Editor, which turns raw video footage into a video production with soundtrack and effects, as well as Storyline and Timeline Editors for detailed editing.

MyDVD 8 Premier now enables users to capture high definition video from HDV camcorders. In addition, it provides HD video file support - including DivX HD and MPEG-2 HD - as well as support for analog and digital camcorders and video formats, including MPEG-1/2, DV-AVI, TiVo, WMV, and DivX 6. Through the SmartScan, feature, users are now able to capture specific scenes from their DV camcorder.

A library of more than 300 H transitions, 2D/3D effects and overlays can be applied to individual clips or to entire video projects. In addition, MyDVD 8 Premier allows consumers to use multiple video overlays to create picture-in-picture and chroma key effects.

In addition, a number of new capabilities help users to manage, organize, and access their digital video and photos. This includes support for UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) sharing, allowing users to access their media stored on any UPnP-enabled device on a home network, and LiveShare, which allows users to permit friends to browse and download their photos to a PC using any Web browser. In addition, the Windows Media Center file support allow users to create DVDs and play them back on a notebook or DVD player.

MyDVD 8 Premier and MyDVD 8 Essentials are available directly at www.roxio.com and www.sonic.com. MyDVD 8 Premier is priced at $69.99.
