 New Toshiba DVD player with progressive DVD output

Message Text: Toshiba announced the new SD-250J DVD player supporting reproduction JPEG, MP3, and WMA. The player will be available in the market on November the 1st at an estimated price of 120 Euros.

The main differences of the between the new player and the previous model of the company (SD-200J) is that the SD-250J offers a progressive output of DVD video. In addition, the player has a 54MHz / 10 bits DAC for video, a D2 and one component video output.

The supported media formats for reproduction is the DVD video, DVD-R (video mode), video CD, Audio CD, CD-R/RW etc. MP3 and WMA files can be also playbacked.

Moreover, users will be able to display JPEG pictures on their TV sets in thumbnail and slide show display modes.

Five different settings are available, adjusting the quality of the picture. In addition the device supports a three-step expansion zoom.

The audio DAC (192kHz / 24 bits) offers 3 different audio modes according to your needs. The selectable modes are the Standard, the 3D, and the Movie.

The available video outputs are the D2, component, S Video and composite. User is able to grab the audio through an optical, coaxial (digital) or one analog (2ch). Last, the dimensions of the player are 430x214x60mm (W x D x H), and its weight approximately 2.2kg.
