Ricoh has published a service advisory, on yet another CDD issue.
According to Ricoh, a limited number of the products below (Applicable Products) that incorporate CCD of specific production lots may exhibit the following condition:
When the product is used in camera mode, the LCD panel exhibits either a distorted image or no image.
Ricoh says that this condition occurs only in a limited number of units, but it may be accelerated if the units are exposed to high temperature and humidity environments.
Ricoh offers a free out of warranty repair to the owners of applicable products exhibiting this problem with the CCD.
