Sharp has developed a Premium LCD that is claimed to deliver an unprecedented contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 - an industry first. Sharp aims the Mega Contrast LCD display at the professional TV and movie production industry.
Sharp's Mega-Contrast LCD is based on an accumulation of unique technologies and achieves the industry's highest contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1. For comparison, the Canon and Toshiba developed SED TV has 100,000:1 contrast ratio.
The LCD would enable filmmakers and video producers to check video images to the most demanding levels of clarity and color reproduction.
