The RW Products Promotion Initiative will showcase the latest developments in the DVD-R/-RW related technology.
Visitors of the show will have the chance to watch demonstrations of live recordings on DVD recorders connected with DVD camcorders as well video editing functions using DVD-RW media.
At the same booth, the RWPPI member companies will showcase the newly introduced technologies incorporated in the storage media. These include the new single-sided dual layer DVD-RW (8.5GB), the hybrid DVD-RW discs that incorporate both DVD-RW and DVD-ROM characteristics as well as the new dual layer DVD-R media.
The hybrid DVD-RW discs include a technology that assigns seperate areas for ROM (playback only) and RW (Rewrite/playback). Its range of application include video game discs that read software programs from the ROM area and save data during and after play in the RW area, and discs for use in e-commerce that record enncrypted data for protection of personal information.
