Hitachi Maxell has announced a new series of printable DVD-R media for inkjet printers.
The company will launch the discs in the Japanese market first, in the end of September.
Two type of discs are prepared corresponding to 8x recording for video and data. Maxell promises vivid colors printed on the white, glossy surface of the media, due to its newly developed disc coating material. According to the company, the labels are 13 times more "glossy" with the new media, compared to those printed on a mat disc surface.
In addition, the printing resolution has been improved by 1.7 times, and its resistance to light exposure is 2.2 higher, increasing the duration of your labels.
