Alera Technologies, developer and
manufacturer of Advanced Optical Recording Solutions announced today that it
has joined Dell, Hewlett-Packard Company, MCC/Verbatim, Philips Electronics,
Ricoh Company Ltd., Sony Corporation, Thomson Multimedia and Yamaha
Corporation in the DVD+RW Alliance.
The DVD+RW Alliance seeks to develop and promote a universally compatible, rewritable DVD format to enable true convergence between personal computing and consumer electronics products. "Alera Technologies' vision is Always the Prosumer's 1st Choice, and being a
part of the DVD+RW Alliance and this significant DVD technology is key," states Perry Solomon, President and CEO of Alera Technologies.
