OCZ announced the PC-3500 Gold GX memory series, offering gamers a lower-priced memory option. The dual channel kit (2 x 512 MByte) will retail for about $190.
The memory runs at 2.8 volts, DDR433 speed and offer timings of CL 2-2-2-5. OCZ said
the memory will help gamers to " eliminate frustrating frame lag or system crashes
due to incompatibility" and improve performance in game titles such as Doom 3,
Half-Life 2, and World of Warcraft.
With just a slightly above average voltage of 2.8V, these modules run at DDR433 with
timings of CL 2-2-2-5. OCZ claims that the enhanced latency of PC-3500 Gold GX allows
gamers to eliminate frame lags and system crashes under the intense gaming
environments of Doom 3, Half-Life 2, and World of Warcraft.
"The gaming community is what primarily drives the PC industry and there is nothing
we would rather do than cater to those who actively promote the progress in
technology which is also the primary goal of OCZ," commented Dr. Michael Schuette,
Director of Technology Development at OCZ Technology. "The new PC-3500 Gold GX
ultra-low latency DDR modules fit exactly the needs of those interested in optimizing
their system performance without having to apply extreme voltages."
OCZ PC-3500 Gold Gamer eXtreme will be available in both single and dual channel
optimized kits and encased in a gold mirrored copper heatspreaders for the most
effective heat dissipation. The dual channel kit (2 x 512 MByte) will retail for
about $190.
