Message Text: InterVideo announced today WinDVD 7 video and audio playback software.

WinDVD 7 is available in two versions. WinDVD 7 Gold will appeal to movie lovers and business travelers who just want an easy way to enjoy movie playback. For power users who want the latest audio/video technologies and the ability to tweak the controls for their personal preferences, InterVideo offers WinDVD 7 Platinum.

With WinDVD 7 Platinum, InterVideo adds HDTV and Advanced Video Codec (AVC) specification support, also known as H.264 playback support. WinDVD 7 offers digital TV recorded content playback and supports channel navigation for HDTV transport stream recordings. In addition, the latest DVD playback software adopts H.264, the next-generation DVD standard, MPEG-4 Part 10.

A universal player, the Platinum version can also be used to playback Real, QuickTime, WMV-HD (Windows Media Video High Definition) and MPEG-4 video files as well as InterActual-enhanced DVDs. In addition, the new WinDVD 7 will support the upcoming DivX multimedia technology to deliver high-quality interactive video files. Equipped for UPnP(TM) playback, WinDVD 7 can be used to play back content and allocate media files from other UPnP-licensed devices among CE devices and PCs within a UPnP Home Network.

Unique to the DVD player market is WinDVD 7's new Google Toolbar and Google Desktop Search application which provides fast access to obtaining information and managing multimedia files -- not only through the Internet, but also on the desktop.

The second-generation of Trimension(TM) DNM (Digital Natural Motion) technology featured in WinDVD 7 has also been enhanced. The technology now provides improved performance -- even in low power situations.

Like the previous version, WinDVD 7 features InterVideo's time-stretching and Mobile Technology. The Mobile Technology helps users extend the battery life and playback time of mobile PCs based on Intel Centrino(TM) processors. Time-stretching allows users to watch a 2-hour movie on a 1-hour and 30-minute flight by speeding up the playback without loss of audio or video quality.

Pricing, Availability

WinDVD 7 can be used with desktop and laptop computers running Windows 98SE/2000/ME/XP. WinDVD 7 Gold, the standard consumer edition, and WinDVD 7 Platinum, InterVideo's high-end version, will be available at InterVideo's web site at www.intervideo.com on June 15 and will be at retail outlets around the world within the next few weeks. The suggested list prices are $49.95 for WinDVD 7 Gold and $69.95 WinDVD 7 Platinum. Upgrades for current licensed WinDVD users will also be available on the InterVideo web site.
