The use of an aluminum front with glass insert creates a distinctive and elegant appearance that clearly places it in the high-end segment. Next to its exceptional design, the DVD Q50 incorporates Philips’ latest picture improvement technology. Numerous picture enhancements are combined to create the premier home viewing experience.

In addition, it offers a set of advanced video picture adjustment settings like Chroma Luma delay to prevent bleeding of color, Gamma adjustments for better contrast and DNR/Sharpness adjustments for sharply detailed and noise-free images. Digital Zoom with multiple zoom factors gives consumers a choice of viewing perspectives at the highest resolution, and a five-disc Resume function enables disc playback to be restarted at the same point after a pause or interruption.

Other specific features incorporated in the Philips DVD Q50 include built-in AC-3, DTS and Dolby Digital audio decoding, a dual discrete laser pick-up for optimum read-out of DVD and CD-discs, including CD-R and CD-RW discs, Smart PictureTM and Smart PowerTM On/Off. Philips’ parental control with an 80-disc memory is incorporated to allow parents to supervise children’s viewing.
