Message Text: Hitachi Maxell released the new D+RW47D.1P DVD+RW media for data, certified for 8x recording speed. Availability is scheduled for end of June for the Japanese market first.

The new DVD+RW media will be recorded at 6-8x Z-CLV, as long as your DVD recorder supports the 8x writing speed for DVD+RW. For slower recorders, the Maxell discs will be burned at 3.3x.

The 8x Z-CLV recording speed allows writing of a full DVD (4.7GB) in about 8 minutes. Maxell's 8x recording layer assures a low error rate and a high compatibility with the current DVD recorders/players
