Daxon Technology will migrate 30% of its CD-R disc production capacity to DVD+R/-R discs this year, according to company chairman Eric Yu.
Through the transformation of production lines, sales of DVD+R/-R discs are expected to account for more than 50% of total revenues for this year, Yu indicated.
In other news, Daxon extended production from optical discs to polarizers, a component of TFT-LCD panels. The company?s first production line of polarizers was under trial production in small volumes last month and began monthly volume production of 100,000 this month, Yu noted. A second production line is currently under construction, with volume production expected to begin next quarter, Yu added.
