Message Text:
A working group was formed to create Cutting Master Format so called CMF as interchange medium between Blu-ray ROM mastering and authoring
The CMF is not specified in the disc specifications however it is a very important element in the actual business of disc manufacturing, to keep compatibility between authoring systems and mastering systems.
This CMF is developped considering the requirements: Simple and flexible, media independant and network transfer ready. 3rd party support should be encouraged resulting in supporting tools and increased work efficiency.
The first goal was to complete a Non Copy Protected basic CMF covering authoring as well as disc production. An overall test has been held amongst the 4 companies based on CMF Version 0.90. The Authoring as well as disc production at various companies with exchange of CMF between these companies was fully successfull.
Version 1.0 of this CMF is expected to be released within May 2005. Details you can find on website www.bd-cmf.com (available from june 1 , 2005)
