Message Text: Image Power announced today mVideoTV the worlds first Motion JPEG2000 video streaming technology for real time and pre-recorded video content delivery. mVideoTV technology produces encoded bit streams equal to or better than DVD, is free of the adjacent frame dependencies of MPEG2 and MPEG4 and is scaleable to very high compression levels with reduced quality. The new Motion JPEG2000 offering is compatible with client server architectures in wide use today such as the Real Networks Real Player and the Microsoft Media Player.

mVideoTV technology is applicable to a wealth of real time video and streaming applications from high quality motion picture applications such as medical imaging and motion picture production to lower quality applications in error prone environments such as wireless cell phones and the Internet. A variety of video media presentation applications can take advantage of Motion JPEG2000 from real time enterprise training broadcasts to CDROM publishing of annual general meetings. A few of the application areas are:
* DSC (Digital Still Camera) with Moving Video
* Internet Video
* CDROM distribution of video content
* Mobile Phone / PDA
* Distance learning
* Enterprise streaming
* Video Capture Systems
* High Quality Digital Video Recording Systems
* Remote Surveillance and Security Systems
* Medical Imaging
* Remote Sensing
* High Resolution Mapping

mVideoTV technology is applicable to both desktop and embedded environments. In order to meet the broad range of Motion JPEG2000 applications mVideoTV is seamlessly integrated with Image Power's Hybrid system architecture which includes both the Cypress and Blackbird JPEG2000 codec architectures and the new JPEG2000 Application Programming Interface.

Image Power has engineered an mVideoTV technology solution compatible with the client server architecture of the Real Networks Real Player streaming architecture and the Microsoft Media Player streaming server. Using utilities provided with the mVideoTV product video bit streams can be created which can be served by the Real Server for display on Real Players. Selectable audio formats are supported from PCM to MP3. Utilities are also available to create Motion JPEG2000 AVI files playable by the Microsoft Media Player. Another utility is available to create ASF files for streaming applications.
