Message Text: Plasmon announced plans to exhibit the UDO Desktop Drive, Gx174 optical library and Raidtec CS3102 for the first time at CeBIT 2005, Hall 1, stand 9a4, being held in Hanover from 10th ? 16th March 2005.

All three products will be part of Plasmon?s ?Data Storage Pavilion?; adding further depth to their archival storage and RAID solution product lines.

Software partners joining the Plasmon Data Storage Pavilion include: K-Par, Pegasus, and QStar. Each will be demonstrating their data management and archival storage software in combination with Plasmon G-Series libraries Powered by UDO and Raidtec RAID storage. Verbatim will also be participating in the Pavilion as a second source UDO media manufacturer.

?As the world's largest technology show, CeBIT 2005 is the ideal place for Plasmon to exhibit our new UDO and Raidtec products,? explains Steve Tongish, marketing director for EMEA at Plasmon. ?All three will be part of our larger Data Storage Pavilion where we will be demonstrating Plasmon archival storage and RAID solutions together with some of our key business partners. The Data Storage Pavilion will be a great resource for organisations developing a tiered storage strategy involving high-performance RAID for active data and a long-term archive that complies with industry regulations and corporate policies.?

The new UDO Desktop Drive provides compliant, high capacity and cost-effective archival storage for departmental and small office environments and supports both true Write Once and Rewritable UDO (Ultra Density Optical) media formats. 30GB UDO media is the first generation of high density, blue laser optical technology and has been specifically designed for compliant long-term storage of valuable business information such as high volume emails and document images, customer records, audio or video files, financial information and design documentation.

Raidtec CS3102 is a rack mounted RAID storage solution designed for departmental, document imaging, audio/video streaming and disk-to-disk backup applications. Raidtec CS3102 is host and operating system independent with dual Ultra 320 SCSI host connections and hot swap disks, power supplies and cooling fans as standard. Raidtec CS3102 uses cost effective Serial ATA (SATA) disk drives in a high-density, 12 bay configuration that delivers up to 4.8TB of storage capacity in a compact 2U enclosure.

The new Gx174 is the latest in Plasmon?s line of optical libraries Powered by UDO. Using 30GB UDO technology the Gx174 has an archival storage capacity of over 5TB. All Gx libraries are based on the same cost-effective design that does not sacrifice the performance and reliability that customers have come to expect from Plasmon optical libraries. Like the larger Enterprise G-Series libraries, the Gx174 has the industry?s best MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) ratings and provides typical data access times of less than 10 seconds. The Gx174 standard features include dual picker and hot swappable drives and it also has advanced options such a barcode reader and redundant power supplies.
