Tripath Technology, announced today that its high fidelity Class-T digital
amplifier technology has been adopted by Sony for SA-PSD5, an upcoming
PlayStation 2audio/video amplifier system. Playstation 2 console will plug
directly into the system which will deliver 330W of high fidelity, 5.1
surround sound for games and DVD movies.
"Tripath's efficient, 1-bit digital amplifiers were the key to integrating
Sony's sound processing and 5.1 audio channels delivering 330W of power into
the sub woofer cabinet. This compact and powerful surround sound system will
compliment the PlayStation 2's real life graphics with an equally impressive
audio experience," said Mr. Masahiro Tamura, General Manager Audio
Entertainment Group, Sony Corporation. SA-PSD5 will be available in Japan on
April 21.
