Message Text: Exclusive Formulations Elevate Performance and Reliability Standards for High-Speed DVD Media

At CES 2005, TDK, a world leader in digital recording solutions, is exhibiting its expanded media line featuring its new 16x DVD+R and 16x DVD-R discs, the most advanced recordable DVD media products the company has ever produced. "We had a clear objective in formulating our new 16x DVD+R and DVD-R media," noted Chris Bailey, TDK Director of Recording Media. He continued, "We wanted to maximize the performance of our customers? DVD burners and eliminate hassles by providing the highest-speed, highest-reliability discs possible.

Two Products, One Unmatched Performance Standard

TDK 16x DVD+R and DVD-R discs make it easier than ever for customers to enjoy the benefits of high-speed, error-free DVD recording along with the widest playback compatibility with drives and players. The discs are ideally suited for a wide variety of applications, ranging from recording home videos and digital photos to backing up large files. With 4.7GB capacity, each TDK 16x DVD+R and DVD-R disc can store thousands of digital images, or more than six hours of video and audio, depending on the file types and resolutions.

As DVD recording speeds have increased, the importance of using name brand, high quality media has become paramount. When a DVD+R or DVD-R is recorded at 16x, the high RPMs of the recording process require an advanced, ultra-sensitive recording material capable of compensating for the abbreviated exposure to the drive laser. Specially formulated with a rapid phase-change recording layer that is certified for the highest recording speeds, TDK 16x DVD+R and DVD-R media products maximize the data transfer rate while minimizing the potential for errors. The discs have been thoroughly tested and verified to outperform other 16x media brands, which may rely on slow-reacting, error-prone phase-change materials.

TDK will begin shipping 16x DVD+R and 16x DVD-R media in early 2005.
