Message Text: Microboards today introduced its new CD/DVD publisher, placing revolutionary production quantity capabilities at the fingertips of desktop users.

The system allows consumers to produce larger quantities of discs with a finished, professional label, at a lower cost per disc. The DX-2 utilizes HP-based inkjet technology with Microboards? patented, robust automation.

The DX-2, available immediately through authorized Microboards resellers, is the latest development in a comprehensive plan to bring industrial strength duplication into a variety of applications. The software suite with the DX-2 includes SureThing label editing software and PrassiTech Zulu 2 recording and automation software, giving consumers access to advanced publishing features as well.

?With the DX-2 and its included publishing software suite, our customers will be able to create batches of recording jobs totaling up to 100 discs for unattended publishing in a matter of minutes,? said John Westrum, Vice President and CTO at Microboards. ?By delivering a faster, more robust system, Microboards addresses a need with our customers who are now dependant on CDs and DVDs for dissemination of information to ever larger numbers of people.?

Microboards? recent release of a second generation of its popular disc printer, the Print Factory, came as a result of studies showing the overall quantity of discs produced in each job on the rise. ?The PF-2 Disc Printer, and now the DX-2 Publisher, have found a home in these growing organizations and applications,? said Westrum.

From the intuitive software interface, DX-2 users will have access to a wide range of features, including:

- Full coverage, 4800 Dpi printing and an ink cost of pennies per disc.
- Virtually unlimited batch queuing for setting up multiple unattended print and record jobs and storing the jobs for future repetition.
- Reliable performance using robotics based on Microboards? patented auto loading technology, with minimal moving parts and advanced error handling.
- End-to-End warranty covering a full year of everything included: robotics, printer, recorders, and software.
