Message Text: CyberLink announced in correspondence with Microsoft Corp.'s Digital Entertainment Anywhere launch event, an updated version of PowerDVD SE for Windows XP decoder.

Through PowerDVD SE, users of Windows Media Player XP/9/10 can view DVD content by utilizing CyberLink's award-wining MPEG-2 decoder. PowerDVD SE also allows conversion of DVR-MS video files recorded via Windows Media Center Edition to Windows Media Video using Windows Media Player 10. Users can then watch their recorded TV programs on portable media players including Windows Mobile-based Portable Media Centers.

"CyberLink's strength is in DVD playback technologies, and our latest MPEG-2 decoder supports the growing shift to playing video files via portable devices," said Alice H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink. "Through this close collaboration Microsoft customers are getting the world's leading video decoder for their latest Windows products."

"CyberLink's continued support for the digital video capabilities in Windows XP enables millions of consumers to easily play back DVD content in Windows Media Player 10," said Jonathan Usher, Director for the Windows Digital Media Division at Microsoft. "Whether playing DVDs or converting recorded television programs for transfer to Portable Media Center devices, CyberLink decoding technologies provide seamless integration and high-quality video support for Windows Media Player 10 and Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005."
