Message Text: Set to hit the market in mid-November, the RD-X5 from Toshiba is a high-end hard drive and DVD recorder that features a 600GB hard drive that can store up to 1,071 hours of video at 1Mbps.

The product is the industry's first DVD recorder to support recordings in VR mode (DVD Video Recording) on DVD-R discs and CPRM-compatible DVD-R recording.

Ideally suited for home theater applications, the RD-X5 features a high-speed 192kHz/24bit DAC audio and 216MHz/12bit DAC video to produce high-quality sound and video. The recorder also supports Dolby Digital and Linear PCM sound recording technologies.

The open-priced recorder measures 430x78x338mm and weighs 7kg.
