Message Text:
Taiyo Yuden Japan announced today a new series of 8X DVD-R media that for the first time support CPRM protection...
A CPRM compliant disc has the "media ID" pre-written to a disk, "MKB (Media Key Block)", and encryption that allows recording of videotape data. Media ID and MKB are written at DVD-R format for the first time by Taiyo Yuden.
Usually users could buy so far CPRM media only at DVD-RW/DVD-RAM formats, however Taiyo Yuden expanded CPRM by DVD-R for the first time.
In addition, the DVD recorder which supported CPRM correspondence DVD-R is needed for the digital-broadcasting videotape recording using this disk. Now, although the CPRM correspondence recorder is not put on the market now, the market injection of the correspondence recorder is likely to be done by each company later on.
