Acer announces 19" LCD AL1931


Acer(R) America Corporation, one of the leading worldwide suppliers of PC solutions, today introduced the AL1931, a new 19-inch flat panel display that incorporates leading features and stylish design for great performance and ease of use in small-to-medium business (SMB) environments. The exclusive design of the AL1931, which features a metallic bezel with silver accents, DVI-D support and lighting fast response times, will add form and functionality to any SOHO, government, education or SMB environment.

Priced starting at $669, the AL1931, a member of Acer's new Prestige line of LCD monitors, delivers a high, 700:1 contrast ratio and brilliant colors for photo-like image quality. Three video inputs (VGA, AV and DVI-D) give users the flexibility to combine the AL1931 with either analog graphics solutions or new digital systems. The AL1931 displays a sharp and clear resolution of 1280 x 1024 (SXGA) and a response time of 25 milliseconds for superior clarity of moving images. The AL1931 and other Acer Prestige LCD's feature premium contrast ratios for sharp colors, wide viewing angles for easier viewing, fast response times to run and view DVD's and video games and brightness levels that result in brilliant images and rich colors.

Acer offers a complete range of 15-, 17-, 19- and 20-inch LCD monitors, from entry level to high-end product offerings. Acer's LCD product lines demonstrated wide market acceptance across Europe in the first quarter of 2004(1) where Acer ranked number one, with 14% market share, in units shipped in Western Europe, including leading marketshare in Austria, Belgium, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, and Switzerland. Acer's market share in Switzerland and Italy reached 31.4% and 35.2% respectively, showing Acer's clear dominance in the LCD market.
