CyberLink and Panasonic to deliver PowerDVD CPRM And PowerProducer Gold

PowerDVD is currently the only software in the Japanese market to support Content Protection for Recordable Media (CPRM) on the PC.

CPRM is an extremely hot topic in Japan, as awareness grows for protection of digital television (TV) content in the lead up to the complete introduction of digital terrestrial broadcasting by 2011. A user's player needs to support CPRM in order to playback a disc containing copy-controlled information.

"The Japanese market is a place of early technology adaptors who demand high quality and state-of-the-art engineering," said Alice H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink. "CyberLink is a world leader in DVD software solutions. Our products meet the stringent Japanese standards and we feel honored to bundle our award-winning products in Panasonic's LF-700 Series DVD Super Multi drives."

PowerProducer 2 Gold is an easy-to-use software that enables users to turn movies and photos into stunning DVDs or CDs. The software carries the DVD-Video PC Authoring logo, a symbol of DVD-Video format compliance and legitimacy. Panasonic is a leading producer of DVD Super Multi drives. The latest LF-700 Series continues to uphold Panasonic's reputation for providing superior performance, reliability, and speedier results with 8X DVD+R/-R, 4X DVD+RW/-RW, and 5X DVD-RAM support. The LF-700 Series is comprised of two models: LF-M721 JD and LF-M760 JD. They are scheduled for release in Japan on July 10, 2004, and July, 24, 2004, respectively.
